Having kids I really needed a good quality mat that would stick firmly in the tub. The first thing that I noticed about this mat was how well made and thick it was. It really was made with a high quality. The mat is thick and the suction cups were not flimsy either. I first cleaned my tub out and then placed the mat down and it immediately stuck firmly to the tub. I was very impressed at how well it clung to the surface of the tub. I next gave it the biggest test of them all, I put my youngest daughter in the tub. If anyone or anything can test the durability of something it is her. She is so hard on everything she comes into contact with. Whether it be clothes, toys, food, or bathmats she is the ultimate test for it. I ran her a bubble bath and let her just be herself while I was in the next room. I have to say, 45 minutes later she was ready to get out and that mat had not budged. It stood up to her moving, sliding, playing and just being her fun happy never-still self. After she was finished I rinsed the tub out and pulled the mat up to check it out again. Let me say that it took some force to even pull it up. My daughter loved the way it sounded when I finally got it to come off. She told me it sounded like a gigantic octopus letting go of a boat. She is a nut and always comes up with the funniest things. I really have to say that I am very pleased with the durability of this mat and I totally trust it to help keep my kids safe and secure in the bathtub. I know that this will help prevent any falls. The reason why it is so important to have one of these in the tub is because I learned the hard way when I was about 4-years-old. I was at my grandmother's house spending the night. I was in the bathtub taking a bath when she had left the room for a minute and I tried to jump over the edge of the tub onto the floor. I slipped and hit my chin on the edge of the tub. A gash across my whole chin, exposing the bone, had been the outcome. She rushed me to the hospital where they had to sew it up, while I was wide awake. That is my earliest memory of life and I remember being held down while they sewed up my chin and screaming. I never want that to happen to my kids and so I always try to have a non-slip mat in the tub. I can honestly say that I really like this one and I am very pleased that I ordered it. It is 100% worth having in order to keep my kids and even myself safe in the tub or shower
